Mission and Philosophy

The Purpose of Annavale Headstart Nursery School is to provide a half-day Nursery School Program for up to 24 children each session, which will benefit the child, the parent and the community. The growth and development of the whole child is the primary aim. We plan each day's activities to make the most of your child's interests, strengths and curiosity, so that they have fun while they learn. In acknowledging and welcoming the multicultural community, this Headstart Program supports the statement from the Ontario Ministry of Education on Multiculturalism in Education:

"Every child, of whatever colour, race, religion, age, or sex, has the right to be treated with respect and understanding."

This program supports this belief by following the three principles of Ontario's official Multicultural Policy:

  • Equality
  • Freedom of access to community services
  • The right to maintain one's cultural heritage

These sessions take place on an informal workshop setting.
